Superior Almond Hulling Joins the Many Agribusinesses Going Solar

Superior Almond Hulling joins the many agribusinesses going solar. The company now has a 1.125 MW solar PV system that’s expected to save them $5 million over the next 25 years.

The Business Journal reported today that Cenergy Power, a commercial and agricultural solar developer, has completed a 1.125 MW solar PV system for Superior Almond Hulling, a leading huller and sheller of almonds. The installation is for the company’s Cantua Creek processing facility southwest of Fresno, California.

This is just the one of many recent agribusiness installations. Like many other businesses, agribusinesses are finding that solar makes economic sense and can help support their operations.

Cenergy has been in on a lot of these installations in California’s Central Valley. The area gets abundant sunshine so is well-suited for solar power.

The PV system for Superior Almond Hulling is expected to generate more than 1.8 million kWh of solar power per year and save the company $5 million in electricity costs over the life of the system.
