Clean Power Finance selects Itron solar monitoring for the residential solar systems it manages on behalf of investors. The revenue-grade solar meters can accurately monitor the production of residential and commercial solar systems.
Clean Power Finance (CPF) has been in the news for facilitating investments in residential solar. Now it has selected Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) to provide a monitoring solution for residential solar installations across North America.
As a part of the agreement, CPF will use Itron’s solar monitoring solution to monitor and sub meter the energy production of the residential solar systems CPF manages on behalf of investors. The Itron solar monitoring solution includes Itron’s solar meter embedded with cellular communications, plus Itron Managed Services for managing and monitoring solar power generation.
The Itron solar monitoring solution provides an accurate, reliable way to measure and manage solar production data at residences that are often distributed across a wide geographic area. With plug-and-play setup and streamlined activation, the solution is expected to reduce installation time for CPF’s channel partners, improve the data collection process, and lower costs while improving operational efficiency for the entire system.
Itron began shipping solar meters to CPF partners in December for implementation across North America. The revenue-grade solar meters can accurately monitor the production of residential and commercial solar systems.
“The efficiency and simplicity of Itron’s solar monitoring solution makes it a preferred technology for CPF. The solution helps our customers reduce installation times and improve monitoring accuracy,” said Steve Olszewski, senior vice president of operations at CPF. “We are pleased to have a solution that enables us to easily secure production data over an existing cellular network.”
“As the leading provider of revenue-grade solar monitoring in North America, Itron enables third-party solar providers, such as CPF, to easily and accurately monitor solar production,” said Jeff Carkhuff, vice president of global product management for electricity at Itron. “We look forward to working with CPF on an ongoing basis to supply our solar monitoring solution so they can better serve their customers.”
