The sunshine just keeps shining on South Carolina. Earlier this week Florence County, S.C. announced a partnership with Cypress Creek Renewables to build a solar facility. Upon completion, the project will provide 15 MW of generating capacity to the county.
Cypress Creek Renewables CEO Matthew McGovern said, “We’re very excited to bring more clean energy to both the Florence community and the State of South Carolina.”
Cypress Creek has partnered with Charleston, South Carolina based developer Sustainable Energy Solutions to build the $15.5 million facility.
Sustainable Energy Solutions Owner Paul Fleury said, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring more clean energy online in South Carolina..”
The project is expected to bring 40-60 new jobs to Florence County during construction.
It also brings Cypress Creek one step closer to achieving its goal of installing 1 GW of solar projects by the end of next year.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said, “The investment Cypress Creek is making in our state proves that South Carolina is a place where companies from all over the world and from different industries can find a home and succeed. Together, Team South Carolina has created an environment where businesses can and will grow.”
