sPower has broken ground on its 45 MW Arizona project. The Sandstone Solar Facility is located in the city of Florence. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of the year. It represents a 21-year PPA between sPower and the Salt River Project (SRP).
Ryan Creamer, CEO of sPower, said, “We are pleased to partner with SRP in building yet another clean energy facility that supports both of our companies’ sustainability goals.”
Congressman Paul Gosar, who represents the Facility’s district, said, “The fact that solar power is becoming economical when compared to traditional energy sources means we can achieve our national goal of affordable energy independence and diverse power supplies all with less environmental impact.”
This has been a theme we have been hearing a lot about lately from our elected officials. Let’s hope the trend continues.
