Utah’s largest solar facility is now operational. The 3.8 MW DC facility in south Milford is expected to provide electricity for 500 homes.
TerraForm Power has now acquired the plant. However, SunEdison Services will provide operation and maintenance. PacifiCorp will purchase the electricity via a SunEdison 20-year power purchase agreement, enabling customers to lock-in low priced electricity at long term predictable prices.
“We’re proud to announce the completion of Utah’s largest solar power plant,” said SunEdison Executive Vice President of Americas and EMEA, Paul Gaynor. “This is the first of many SunEdison projects to come online in Utah.”
When the 104-MW DC solar plant that we reported on here comes on-line at the end of the year, Utah will be able to power 19,000 homes through solar alone.
